The Clinton Wallace Fox Interview

September 24, 2006 11:39 pm

Not time to blog this in depth, all fairly explanatory. In short, everyone should:
Read this, watch this and digg this.

Favourite comment from the comments is:

I miss having a president that can debate.. gets thrown an on the spot question in this, and acually gives a detailed and well thought out response…

Now days we get “Ummmmm” followed by a blank stare.. and something about putting food on my family..

It’s all just so wrong….

No wonder this country is turning to shite….

Pupils at a South Yorkshire school are being fed fish and chips through the gates by parents who say the canteen is not providing what their children want.

A blind man convicted of dangerous driving, after police spotted his car on the wrong side of the road, has been given a suspended jail sentence.
Iraqi-born Aziz pleaded guilty to driving with no MOT, no licence and no insurance.
He was being directed by an allegedly banned driver, and was given 12 weeks in prison suspended for a year.

Former boxing champion Naseem Hamed has left prison after serving 16 weeks of a 15-month term for dangerous driving.
The 32-year-old was jailed in May after his sports car was involved in a 90mph crash.
In May, Sheffield Crown Court heard the former world featherweight champion took a “stupid risk” while showing off his powerful Mercedes McLaren sports car to a businessman in May 2005.
He was doing at least 90mph on the wrong side of the carriageway as he approached a blind dip on Ringinglow Road, on the edge of the Peak District.
His car, with the registration plate NAS 1, was in a head-on collision with a Volkswagen Golf, driven by Mr Burgin, whose wife Claire was also injured in the crash.
Last week Mr Burgin, who suffered fractures to every major bone in his body in the crash, said he was shocked that Hamed was being released early.

From Finextra.com

Insurance group Aviva is cutting 4000 jobs at its Norwich Union business in the UK by 2008, of which 1000 jobs will be shifted to offshore centres in India.

It doesn’t have to be this way - you have a choice!

The REAL Crazy Frog

September 13, 2006 7:12 pm

I hate, loathe and detest Crazy Frog, but this is pure genius…
(UPDATED: The video works again)

And here’s what they’re meant to look like 15 years on…

How’s this for irony?

BBC and Daily Mail in pointless outrage shocker.

September 11, 2006 5:06 pm

According to The Daily Mail and The Register “BBC bosses are outraged” etc etc, because a news team made a small leaving video for a colleague as a spoof of

But looking at the comments, no-one is bothered by this! What bothers people is when the BBC pay convicted criminals £4,000 for “their story”.
Now that’s offensive…

911 conspiracy bollocks

4:59 pm

It’s five years today since the twin towers fell. I never really heard a lot about all the conspiracy theories until Maddox covered it in his excellent and inimitable style.

I watched about 5 minutes of “Loose Change” on Youtube, I couldn’t bear the bullshit anymore!

OK, so some mental with cash to blow makes a fantasy film for his own amusement. That’s one thing.

But what scares me, propery scary like, is the people that not only believe it (comments like “oh ma gawd, I never did know this stuff.
Hey, Cletus, come looky here at the magic box. It was them there government what done it”.)

And then there are newsgroups…apparently, did you know that none of those flights actually took off? The passengers were killed and their calls home were done by actors? I never knew that….

It gets worse…

Apparently, was a missible with a cardboard cutout of a jet(!!!) stuck on, and the towers were brought down with explosive charges, and ALL the tapes which showed otherwise have been doctored.

C’mon. Bush is moronic beyond belief, I doubt he could even SAY conspiracy, let alone spell it, and even less so keep it hushed up!
And I have no doubt if anyone else was in the job, it probably wouldn’t have happened. But missiles disguised as planes, and every
single tape confiscated and doctored and fake distress calls? No wonder the fundamentalists find easy pickings amongst the mental - there’s a lot to choose from!

Update: I saw a BBC programme called “AM” which had another mental called David Ray Griffin. A bit of googling led me to http://www.nineeleven.co.uk/ and I have to admit to being rather shocked and embarrased. I can understand Americans going for this kind of stuff, but we’re British, dammit! Aren’t we supposed to think about stuff like this?

Enviro-home energy saving claims.

September 7, 2006 11:13 pm

I nipped down to Reading to see, amongst other things, the Enviro Home at the St James Kennet Island development.

I noticed a couple of inconsistencies and figures I didn’t recognise. This isn’t in any way meant to badmouth or sound skeptical about solar and environmental stuff, I’m all for it. The trouble is that when random and artificially high figures are bandied about, and then rubbished by BBC’s Rogue Traders special on Solar Salesmen, it’s not really going to help the industry.

Anyway, I’m going to be lazy and let people make some comments, then I’ll come back in a couple of days and integrate the facts and figures.

As you walk into the house, you are greeted by this:

List of claims

Ignoring the wayward apostrophe for a moment, inside the house, it’s…

Solar PV 30 to 40 percent

This sounds a bit high for PV. Unless they plan on using 1 lightblub. I mean, bulb.

And now we’re up to 40 percent!

Solar PV 40 percent

Now, what about that hot water?

It provides 13% of the hot water…

13% hot water tiles

but provides a 25% gas saving. Not sure I can reconcile those figures. Anyone?

Solar hot water 25 percent

Then there’s the spelling, grammar and punctuation.

Light Blubs
Bad spelling
