A little bit of good news in a morning filled with sadness for David Cameron and the incident with the crashing plane at Amsterdam Schipol airport.
Lord Ahmed has been jailed for killing a father of two. How long did he get? Just 12 weeks.
The judge described his texting as “prolonged, deliberate, repeated and highly dangerous”
As many have noted, he’ll be out before he unpacks his toothbrush
By the way, this is the same Lord Nazir Ahmed who said Geert Wilders was “a danger” - the irony!
UPDATE: Shameless Lord Ahmed (who is to appeal his sentence) had his solicitor on BBC Radio 4′s PM this evening. Here’s the interview:

Yesterday this fellow “Lord Ahmed” appeared on BBC commenting on the Prime Ministers critical comments on Pakistan's support for terrorism (the comments made in Bangalore last week).
Why is “Lord” Ahmed offended? The comments were not against Muslims (British or otherwise)… It was against the state support for terrorism export which Pakistan has followed for a long time and even now.
The man did not fail to advise Cameron that the PM should have taken the issue of Kashmir and the 'sad plight' of Christians (!) in India with the Indian Govt!
Why do the British establishment tolerate such Mullahs? Why does the labour Party tolerate such Mullahs? Where is this man's alllegiance? How did this fundamentalist get the title 'Lord'?
Britain has done a lot of political blunders during 1947-1960, 1979-89 period…the biggest being accepting and supporting third rate fundamentalists as emmigrants from Pakistan and then supporting the US Adventure in Afghanistan during 1979-89 which created taliban etc etc.
It was totally wrong for BBC to bring in this man for his expert comments on the PM: Why don't the BBC ask the man today on the killings and violence in Karachi? A>nd how many thousands were killed in Mosque attacks in Pakistan in the last 10 years and compare with the same in India (=0) during the same period ??
The death toll from violence triggered by Monday’s murder of Syed Raza Haider, a senior leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and member of the Sindh Assembly, rose to 54 after six more people were killed on Tuesday….
And in PESHAWAR: A suicide bomber attacked a vehicle carrying the Chief of Pakistan’s Frontier Constabulary in Peshawar on Wednesday, killing him and two others. Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan claimed responsibility for the attack.
The whole Pakistan is burning with terrorism, fundamentalism and factional fighting….
Still British-born Pakistanis like Lord Ahmed, Labour MPs Khalid Mahmood, etc are still obsessed with anti-Indian slogans whenever they get an opportunuty on the TV!
Incidentally, Pakistan's own main English daily 'DAWN' does not highlight Kashmir violence of last 2 weeks.. neither have they given much importance to the Cameron comments…
It appears that British-born Pakistanis are more fanatic than the native ones!!! A paradox !!!
